Tommy, very nice looking fuselage. I dont like building with foam, but I must admit, that the smooth fuselage looks great.
I am curious to see how it looks at the end.

Slow progress. Made the tail parts, will most probably use the fin made from depron as it looks better. Slightly heavier, in fact now double as the built-up weighs 0.03 grams and the depron one weighs 0.06 grams. Can live with that

I can try the Tengujo on the built-up fin, just for practise.

Hi Pete,

I used a local foam called Finnfoam. Around 32 kg per cubic meter, but mine was actually near 37 kg stuff. Slightly too heavy I think, but I can't get the light Dow Floor mate here at all. Will look around if I find something lighter. Can post to you of course!

I knew that the Tengujo won't shrink much, that was actually why I bought it in the first place. Haven't tried it yet, will soon. I've found that Esaki needs pre-shrinking, before using it to cover something. Otherwise too strong shrinkage for at least lightly built surfaces.

have you had a chance to do any work with the Tengujo? I got some 8.8g from a shop in Germany a few years ago, using it on the Gipsy Moth pistachio that I had at the IIFI (didn't fly). I found that the tissue did not shrink very much - if at all. Actually, for the micro model, not a bad trait.

About the foam board you used... which type is it? The StyroDur that I have seems to be pretty heavy (can't get a weight as I only have a few scraps left, but enough for a pistachio or peanut fuselage) and has become difficult to find.

Started on a new project, which one I've had on my thoughts for a long time. Albatros W4, a floatplane from the First WW. Biplane of course, to add complexity

Mixed construction, foam for fuselage and probably for floats, too. Built-up wings and tail parts. Want to have a solid looking fuselage, that is the reason for foam. Besides I've never made one before. Laminated outlines for tail, used 3 mm depron as a jig. Cockpit coaming from thin depron. Covering will be Tengujo Kashmir japanese paper, got it from Ceiba sro from Czech Republic. Jiri Doležel told me that one, thanks! Link: http://eshop.ceiba.cz/japonske_papiry_archy

Hope to get this done for IIFI 2017, will see if I manage.
