Re: Mystery Dimer

Aha, that's a good idea, especially with Nocals where there is no problem with free space for the rubber. I have never seen a four engined nocal before!

Re: Tow-line (Vintage, Nos.)

Thanks! The OT-champs are held near Tomelilla in the southernmost part of Sweden. It was held on the same place last year, unfortunately in apalling weather. If you are interested, you can see a report (in Swedish) from the competition at http://smos.homeunix.net/sm17.html . Follow the links on the ...

Re: Tow-line (Vintage, Nos.)

The Hector in the photo above has finally been finished and test flown. After some adjustments it seemed to fly nice, and thus got its ticket for a trip to the oldtimer champs next weekend :)

Re: Mystery Dimer

Looks nice! And an interesting and unusual subject. The engine nacelles are not long, are you considering some trick like extended motor sticks to get in a decent length of rubber?

Re: West Wings 24" Spitfire Mk.22

That is beautiful, excellent covering! And seems to be a good flier too, not many Spitfires would climb without engine power :-)

Interesting to know that one can print on Gampi tissue, I have not seen it done before.

Re: Tow-line (Vintage, Nos.)

I'm currently building a model in the same class, called Hector (see plan at http://smos.homeunix.net/modellregister/en/modell/103/ ). It is built almost entirely of hardwood, with balsa just used for some infills. I hope to have it ready at this years oldtimer champs, but I'm running out of time...

Re: Tow-line (Vintage, Nos.)

You have got some very nice looking gliders there! I have seen them at the Swedish oldtimer champs, and can testify that they are good fliers as well. The Uppåt is not an A1 class glider, it's the old Swedish class S2, which is roughly equal to the A2 gliders in size and weight, but limited by span ...

Definately an unorthodox flier :o Best of luck with building and trimming!

Re: Went flying...

And here is my Trim, a Swedish design from 1938. "Trim" means the same in Swedish as in English. I had not tested it before, but it proved to be a nice flier. I had less luck with an A1 glider inherited from a deceased member of our club. It cartwheeled during a landing and broke a wing ti...
