That looks like it could get hilarious.

Just guessing but it might be that the rough side attaches better to the dope on the framework and the shiny side absorbs less dope when the overall finish is applied.

Just saw you flying Little Stinker on your youtube channel. It looked realistic in flight, nice and stable and a smooth landing. The checkerboard and stripes paint job showed really well.

The wires and tailwheel assembly look very realistic. Figuring out the masking and painting of the N22E on the upper wing must have kept you up nights.

That is a 180 hp S1S Pitts. Before your first flight the local Pitts expert will tell you "climb at 90, glide at 90". Climbing at 90 results in a 45º up angle. Gliding at 90 means you can see the runway ...
