Re: Howard Littman Model Aircraft Dewoitine D.520
The Dewoitine D.520 is still in process despite some unanticipated delays. I got the second prototype ready for some finishing and sprayed a coat of white floral spray on it as a primer. Paint_Day_1.jpg Paint_Day_3.jpg Primer is meant to show all flaws before final finishing and did it ever! The dic...

Re: Indoor Flying with the O.F.F.C.
I got up at 6:30 this morning intending to go to the OFFC meeting and flying session (outdoors and with masks) but my wife had some gardening to do and she needed assistance. I didn't get to Stonehurst until 10 which was a bit iffy since the high temperature was predicted to be 107 (F of course). Wh...

There were several unanticipated delays in the month of July but progress has been made.

Re: 20mm EDF DH108 Swallow build and flight
I understand your situation. I was nearsighted and wore glasses most of my life. When I had cataract surgery I chose distance lenses. My wife thought that this was a mistake since I now need two pairs of reading glasses one for reading and one for the computer. She doesn't fly models.

Re: 20mm EDF DH108 Swallow build and flight
Very impressive for a model that is 50 grams with only a 15.5 inch wing span! I know that the video does not give the same resolution as the Mk 1 eyeball but do you have any trouble keeping it in sight?

Re: Howard Littman Model Aircraft Dewoitine D.520
I gave on the plastic nose blocks and went to wooden ones. The P-6E has a similar one with peg alignment and with wheel pants done the same way. The hole you seen for the thrust button in the front view is not the final version. The kits will come with Gizmo Geezer adjustable thrust buttons. I have ...

My Wright Amount of Wrong kit has had a slight redesign. It can now be built as either a biplane or a susquiplane. Both are FAC legal.

Re: Indoor Flying with the O.F.F.C.
Due to several issues I was not able to attend the Predicted Time/Spot Landing contest at Stonehurst Rec Center last Wednesday. I have passed on the report from Dave Gee that appears in the July Black Sheep Exhibition Squadron newsletter. OFFC_1.jpg OFFC_2.jpg OFFC_3.jpg OFFC_4.jpg OFFC_5.jpg OFFC_6...

Re: Indoor Flying with the O.F.F.C.
Yippee! The O.F.F.C. contest schedule resumes this month with the Predicted Time/Spot Landing contest. This is our only outdoor contest of the year and will be held, as usual, on the grass at the Stonehurst Recreation Center. The date is Wednesday, June 17. The contest starts at 8:30 AM and runs un...

Re: Howard Littman Model Aircraft Dewoitine D.520
Making the master models for the molded parts has not been an easy task. I started working with blue foam and plaster filler. Molds_smaller.jpg This worked for the radiator and nose block but the canopy has been driving me to distraction. After several unsatisfactory tries I ended up with a wooden o...
