Re: Lockheed Altair

Over the last week or so I have done most of the white marking and lettering so here are some photos. Seems to bring the model to life when you do things like this. First pics are of masking and finish of the underwing reg.

Re: Lockheed Altair

Thanks Roman, I'm looking forward to receiving the nice weather you are sending! Can you send enough for the whole summer please? :D

The Altair is still proceeding. I have done the underwing reg Nos and I am currently working on the white fuse markings and lettering. Pics when that part is done.

Re: Pre-Indoor FF scale Nats trimming day, Bushfield Leisure Centre, 9 April 2017

I took a few videos at this meeting. I hope people don't mind me posting vids of trimming flights, which don't always go to plan! But they often don't go to plan in Comps do they! I won't post vids of models just trundling round on the floor, or going straight into the opposite wall instead of turni...

Re: On the workbench right now...

The Pistachio WACO SRE is finished. I am quite pleased with it as although it is heavy for a pistachio, it is not bad fro me! Total is 4.23g and it balances where Walt marks the CG for the peanut without any extra noseweight needed which is always nice. In my defense it is intended for UK comps whic...

Re: Rubber power meeting spring 17 in Switzerland

Thanks for those George; a nice selection of models under a perfect Swiss blue sky! Can you tell us any more about the ducted fan model? I presume it is a homemade fan unit? Did you get to see it fly or was it too windy? How did the Bellanca do? I hope Roman got some video of it and some other model...

Re: Lockheed Altair

Thanks Roman, thanks George. For masking I use an ordinary painters masking tape called Frog tape. It is available in most builders merchants and DIY stores here. They do a few different types. The ones I use are the standard (green) and the low tack (yellow). I stick the tape to a piece of paper so...

Re: Lockheed Altair

Thanks Pete, it's humbrol gloss. I had picked out the blue ages ago so I had everything ready to go once I got one of those elusive "round tuits"!
Still very pleased with the new airbrush; I have been enjoying the painting rather than dreading it.

Re: Lockheed Altair

Even glaciers move downhill and the glacial progress of this build has taken a lurch towards the end point. A fairly big lurch actually as you can see. Not much needs to be said other than "It's been painted!".
