and here are some unusual duration models by the Russians. Not sure what class, if any, they competed in.

Going from foam peanuts to more lightweight stuff, here is Sven Pontan (Sweden) with his F1L. Managed 2:nd place in spite of troubles with the model.

This Messerschmitt 109 is another of Jacques models. Note that it does not have the thin undercambered type of wing profile usually used on foam models, but a scalish profile where even the wheel wells have been cut out!

Another exponent of foam models was Jacques Cartigny, whose Bugatti made very realistic flights using almost the entire space of the hall, looking just like the racer it was meant to be.

This Dornier Merkur was built by Mats Johansson. It's the first peanut he has built, but he has a lot of previous experience in lightweight RC-models. The method of construction is quite interesting, it is built from Depron sheet, covered with printed silver tissue. In spite of a rather high weight ...
