Re: Herr Pitts Special
A few detail bits being added I spent the evening spraying and masking and spraying. I'm using Tamiya acrylics for the first time. Taking a bit of getting used to. Need lots of coats to build up the colour, especially the red which is not very opaque. I'm going to have to dump some primer on the nos...

Re: Herr Pitts Special
First time I've done a cockpit coaming and quite pleased with how it turned out :) Coaming, headrest, canopy rails and LG fairings fitted, almost ready for some paint. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff96/Monsts1/E3132B56-B014-4CC8-8EB0-853CA48E6378_zpszfqkdvlc.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Herr Pitts Special
Thanks guys. Some more progress... Got the fus covered up and shrunk. Then realised that I'd not left any way to get the glue onto the cabanes under the sheeting. Luckily it was a an easy fix by cutting out a small section of tissue at the bottom of the fus so I could get the glue inside. Then just ...

Re: Herr Pitts Special
That's a nice looking Pitts Tim, thanks for the pics. Do you know what size/weight it was? Progress so far... I've been working on the nose and noseblock sections. I was going to go with a sheeted top and carved blue foam bottom, but the kit's shapes are incorrect for a Pitts so I decided to sheet t...

Re: Herr Pitts Special
Been busy with the fus. I made a balls up building the two sides cos I didn't read the plan properly. I had to cut out all the verticals and replace them with the formers. Doh! I've also sheeted the front of the fus and covered the turtle deck with paper to give a more scale look. I've made the stri...

Re: Herr Pitts Special
HUUUUUH! You finally got one! Seeing this means I'll have to dig my kit out (rather large box buried under a BIG stack of smaller kits). Might even start to build it... ;) How are you planning to power it? Yeah Pete, finally! I was actually given this one by a guy here that sells kits after he hear...

Re: Herr Pitts Special
Monique, great new project. I built a peanut Pitts, but had some problems with the trimming. It might be my fault, since it is not as light as it should be. I like the shape of the Pitts and want to build another one one time. I will follow your build and look forward to see it coming along. Roman ...
