Re: Bellanca K "Roma"

Lovely set of bones George and an unusual looking aeroplane. As for the tail, it is my preferred method (copied after Bill Dennis Aeromodeller articles) for models with painted finish. It allows a rather warp free surface and very thin edges, which are more realistic in my view. George Do you have a...

Re: Polikarpov PO-2

Hi George, good to see you here too. Look forward to seeing your builds.

Re: Polikarpov PO-2

Managed a bit this evening after work. As the plan is doubled, I'm doubling only certain areas. The original 18" span called for 1/16th sheet sides, I've gone with the same size on mine. The fuselage stringers are 1/8th. I plan to use the wood sparingly where I can to have some weight in the ba...

Polikarpov PO-2

This will be for next year's Indoor Scale Nats' Open Rubber class. I bought the Flying Scale Models plan that was in the Jan 2004 issue, which at 24th scale is 18" span. That's a bit small, so I doubled it! Mike Stuart flew a beautiful 30" span De Havilland Fox Moth to first place this yea...

Re: Building from 3 View Plans

I follow the same route as Tim, I decide what I want to build and then find plans of similar and spend ages looking at them asking why the designer did this or that . Then I print out the three view to the size I want and begin adding in the structure as I go. This is usually a combination of the be...
