Re: Howard Littman Model Aircraft - hjlmodels.com
My original prototype of the Giant NoCal Beaufighter was built with 1/16" stock like the smaller version. It flew well but would warp on a warm breath. The current, production, beta prototype is made with 3/32" stock. It's not that much heavier but is much more easily handled and transport...

Re: Side Effect
Not quite finished with the development yet. Will be on my web site in December along with some other "postal contest" models in the works.

Re: Sig Cub
Here is one of the pictures I promised. The Harbor Soaring Society guys took 1st and 3rd. The contest was unlimited flights to best single flight. Despite the completely dead air the three top flights were over a minute. I don't know who took this picture but he did leave at least one contestant out.

Re: Side Effect
It flies well (I treed it this morning, but I had my pole!) but I will make a few changes before production. (Of course I will!) There will be bit more dihedral (Just a bit, with swept wings you don't need as much.) and some components will be reduced in size along with a lighter prop with a stronge...

Re: Sig Cub
Flew in the Sig Cub flyoff this morning. There was a good turn out from both clubs, the weather was beautiful, sunny, not too hot, and perfectly dead air. Well, the last was not ideal...no lift. Only three people broke a minute. I did 55.6 seconds. I was glad that I brought my kite pole though...tre...

Side Effect
The working name of this model is 'Side Effect'. I designed and prototyped it this week to a special request. In "backyard testing" it seems to perform as well as the Sig Cub but is a bit smaller (18 inch span). It will get a thorough test tomorrow after I have done my official flights at ...

Sig Cub
Threw together a Sig Cub for a contest on Sunday. The Black Sheep Exhibition Squadron challenged the South Bay Soaring Society to a Sig Cub flyoff. It's an old timey R.O.G. with a 24 inch wing span and a relatively quick build. I did some back yard trimming this afternoon to prepare for the flyoff a...

Re: Indoor Flying with the O.F.F.C.

Kit Errata - hjlmodels.com
One of my customers built three of my kits in the last month and informed me that he was having trouble trimming them because I had left the CG position off the plans and he didn't have a starting balance point. I checked the plans and discovered that I had left the CG location off the plans on five...
