Another of the Finnish flyers was Mauri Tuure, who flew this Nieuport 11. From the Nowlen kit?

And here is Tommy Westlin's DH5. Not a lightweight model, but it nevertheless flew over 40 seconds and brought home third prize.

Here is Pontan with his Tefft Contester, and the photo below shows it in its neat box. Normally a reliable performer, on this occasion it developed trim problems that prevented a flight.

Larissa Bruin's Sainte model shows what a bit of work with marker pens can do to enhance the looks of a transparent model. Larissa had also made the nice paintings that were given as prizes.

And finally, here is my own Sainte Formule. It's a design by Bernard Delhalle, the Maximus, but with some changes. I had not had time to test it before the competition, so was very pleased with its performance. The fuselage is covered with paper, the rest of the model with Ultrafilm mylar.

Great photos Andrea! I have gotten most of my files onto the computer (strange beasties, as the b*ggar has been working perfectly since returning from IIFI!), with only the files from the camcorder to transfer. I previewed them and am pleased to say that they came out a bit better than anticipated, as the camera's autofocus was having trouble with the rather cool temps in the hall - especially on Sunday.

I definitely have a SAINTE in the cards for the coming season! Those are just too NEAT!

Do you know if anyone got any videos of the Peanut and Pistachio flights?

Great photos, thank you Andrea and George.
Thanks also for the compliments, we (Swedes and Finns) made a good showing at IIFI. I was pleasantly surprised by the 3rd place award given to me. Congratulations Andrea for the 2nd place!
