Me with an ear to ear grin in 1982:

That is a 180 hp S1S Pitts. Before your first flight the local Pitts expert will tell you "climb at 90, glide at 90". Climbing at 90 results in a 45º up angle. Gliding at 90 means you can see the runway. Until you flare. At that point your view of the runway is reduced to a triangle on either side bounded by the trailing edge of the lower wing, the fuselage sides and the edges of the runway. Between the climb and the glide the airplane is an absolute delight to fly with a roll rate of about 300º per second, 9G pull and push and light balanced control forces.
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Beautiful Monique!
The finish looks so clean... I like the opaque fresh colours.

John, that is stunning! My dream is to build an S1C one day... I must arrange some dual in one this year though, love that aeroplane.

Got the rigging done, tail wheel assembly made and a trial fit of the wheel pants.

The wires and tailwheel assembly look very realistic. Figuring out the masking and painting of the N22E on the upper wing must have kept you up nights.

Beautiful realistic finish!

I expect it to fly as good as it looks, if not better...

Tamiya tape spaced about 1mm apart and a Sharpie run down between it.
